Toni Bou wins 16th X-Trial World title

After the FIM today announced the cancellation of the X-Trial event in France, scheduled to be the final round of the season, Toni Bou has been mathematically proclaimed 2022 X-Trial World Champion.

In a season in which the Repsol Honda Team rider has won every race held to date, he retains his crown for another year. With 16 titles and 71 victories since he started competing in 2007 for the team, the Spaniard is the most successful rider of all time in the indoor discipline.

With this new milestone, he now has a total of 31 titles in X-Trial and TrialGP.

The last race of the 2022 X-Trial season will now be held on October 8th at the Polisportiu d’Andorra la Vella.

Toni Bou’s statements

“I always say that it’s a shame when a race is cancelled. I would have liked for us to have been able to complete the entire season. During the winter we did a great job with the team in the four races that we had before starting the outdoor season, and we hoped to complete it at the two remaining races. Now we just have to try to win in Andorra in front of my friends and celebrate the title in style.”
