Repsol Honda Team ready for San Marino Grand Prix

After a week off, the Repsol Honda Team return to a venue where they achieved a one-two finish last year through Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró.

Espargaró arrives at Misano with the aim of improving on his recent results and continuing to score points. The Repsol Honda Team rider has podium experience at the San Marino circuit, including a victory there in Moto2 in 2013. His best results in the premier class are a second place in 2021 and third place in 2020.

During his time in Moto2, Stefan Bradl also earned a second place at Misano, in 2011. The German rider will try to achieve a good result on a track that favours the Honda RC213-V.

After the San Marino Grand Prix, the MotoGP World Championship riders will complete two days of testing at the circuit on September 6th and 7th.

Rider statements

#POL44

“Hopefully Misano can give us a boost after a hard weekend in Austria. I am fully focused and committed to continuing to give everything to the Repsol Honda Team and we are all working together to find solutions. The two-day test will be very useful and important for this, we have to work well over the whole event because we then head to a very intense period with the flyways. We stay focused, we stay motivated and we keep on pushing.”

“Misano is a track that I know well from racing here in a the past and also my testing work with HRC. The results have not shown our potential recently and we have to keep working. My speed is coming much better with each race and there are just a few final small points to work out. We have the weekend to be a racer and then it will be back to test rider mode afterwards, let’s see what the full plan is.”
