Following the conclusion of the 2020 preseason, Marc and Álex Márquez spoke to the media together in Spain for the first time since the team was formed, in a press call at Campus Repsol, the energy company’s headquarters.

After the press conference, the new teammates had the opportunity to take part in some enjoyable games with some of the journalists who regularly follow the MotoGP World Championship, joined by two Box Repsol fans. Two teams, each led by one of the Repsol Honda Team riders, were given several fun challenges that rounded off the event.

In one week’s time, Marc and Álex Márquez will be in Qatar for the first Grand Prix of the season, held under the spotlights of the Losail International Circuit.

Marc and Álex Márquez visit Campus Repsol – Rider statements

Today was the last official event before we go to Qatar. It is always good to be around the journalists and look at all the latest news for the season that is about to begin. Then we had the most fun part, which was the games with some of the journalists and fans.

It was entertaining to interact with them and have a different relationship between journalist and athlete, beyond the day-to-day ‘question and answer’ format; it makes everything much more friendly, making the most of this great event at Campus Repsol.

It’s a pleasure to be back at Campus Repsol. I remember when I came here in 2014 after becoming World Champion, and it’s always special. Being able to share nice, fun moments is important. I can’t wait for Qatar; I’m looking forward to sitting on the starting grid and really seeing what a weekend as a MotoGP rider is like. I am really excited.

Today’s experience with the journalists was nice, because we have known each other for years and have a professional relationship at the circuits, but there are always some free moments in which you can talk in a more relaxed way. It was fun; it’s a pity that my team lost the game, but we will get our revenge.
