The two Repsol Moto3 riders finished in a second group of 14 riders, all of whom were fighting for second in Austria.

Arón Canet started from third on the grid and was thirteenth with four laps remaining.

Enea Bastianini crossed the finish line in tenth position, after starting from fourth place -his best grid placing of the season to date.

It was a difficult race, because everybody brakes very late and other riders can easily get in your way. At first it was hard for me, because the feeling was not the same as in practice. I kept modifying my riding style and finally I was able to ride fast and with the lead group, although I couldn’t get the podium I would have liked. Finishing in the top five is a good result for the championship and we are 14 points off second, but I think we have to be more ambitious for the next race.

The expectations for today were high. We made a good start, but on the straight other riders passed me fairly easily and then I had trouble recovering positions. The feeling with the bike was quite good and, although at some points we are still suffering a lot, at others we are really strong. We have to look for the compromise that will allow us to be even more competitive.
