It wasn’t a great race. Yesterday we did our final tests in the dry, and today it rained. This morning I had a good feeling and I was sixth. In the race I wanted to open a gap on the first lap, but on the first corner I lost the front and crashed. I got back on track and tried to set my own pace, despite having some difficulties on the right turns, but I was persistent and gained a lot of positions, taking advantage of the fact that many riders ahead crashed out. I fell again later, at Turn 6, as that area was very slippery, but I was able to continue. In the end, I’ve picked up two points. It’s a shame because I felt very good in dry conditions, and we knew we could have a great race.

Arón Canet

At the beginning of the race I was very comfortable controlling the situation behind Oettl and Di Giannantonio. I saw that the latter was breaking away a little and I decided to overtake Oettl, and from there we had a little contact. Then I caught Di Giannantonio, and when I did I tried to push a bit to see if I could escape. I saw that running such a fast pace was dangerous because the conditions were very difficult. He overtook me in the end and started to set a good pace. I was riding calmly behind him but suddenly, three laps from the end, I lost the front at Turn 6 -where I had already fallen in the warm-up.
