What does Satu Hati mean, and why is it on the Repsol Honda bikes?

The bond Repsol Honda and Indonesia share is unique in many regards

We saw the words for the first time on the fairing of the Honda RC210V. It means “one heart” in Indonesian, and just like the Bob Marley song One Loveit’s a call for harmony and brotherhood. This allusion to positive vibrations symbolises the importance of forming part of a team, and it’s a way for us to share this sentiment with the devoted and passionate fans in Indonesia.

The truth of the matter is that the bond Repsol Honda and Indonesia share is unique in many regards. MotoGP could be called the national sport of this country, on par with the popularity football enjoys in Spain. Newspapers and television shows dedicate a great deal of time to talking about the World Championship teams and riders. Our riders are true superstars adored by the general public. The Repsol Honda Team is one of the World Championship’s best loved teams.

This passion has lead our team to hold its presentation in the country’s capital, Jakarta, every year from 2015 to 2018. But wait, there’s more. In 2016, shortly after winning the title with a miraculous performance at the Japanese GP, Marc Márquez joined 15 promising riders from the Astra Honda Racing School for several laps around the historic Sentul circuit. These photos show the World Champion flanked by a crowd of young riders, smiling and excited to be beside their idol. They’ve all got their hands up to celebrate number 93’s fifth World Championship with a resounding Give me 5!

Satu Hati are the words that represent the bond and commitment to the fans. Beyond its meaning for the Indonesian audience, it’s also a motto for fans from all over the world who support our team. Satu Hati means “One Heart”, “Un Corazón”, “Un Coeur”, “Um Coração”, or “Ein Herz”. The passion for the team and motorbike racing unites fans from the four corners of the earth, all under the same motto.
