I’m thankful for the excellent job the team did this year.
Toni Bou won in Arco di Trento with an 18-point penalty, over the 27 received by the second placed, Adam Raga. It is Bou’s eighth victory this season, of the 10 rounds, and the 97th of his World Championship career.
Jaime Busto finished third, bringing his total this season to six podiums. The young rider took the third place in the overall standings.
Takahisa Fujinami finished the round in tenth and closed the World Championship in fifth position, ending 20 seasons among the top 5 riders of the Outdoor World Championship.
“I started very motivated and with good feelings. After achieving the title, I wanted to win again. The result at the Czech Republic was good, but I wasn’t completely satisfied. We did changes and the result was very positive. It was a great victory, with good feelings. I’m thankful for the excellent job the team did this year. I like a lot competing here in Italy. The public likes it a lot and I also value it and try to do good races.”
“Today I’m not happy. Finishing 20 consecutive years among the top 5 in the World Championship is very good, very important, because I think nobody had ever done it, but today it didn’t go well. I finished the last four races very badly and here I’m finishing with the worst result… I can’t celebrate the milestone of being 20 years in the ‘top five’. But that will serve to see which things didn’t go well and which things I need to change for next year.”
“I’m very happy to achieve the third place in the championship. I didn’t start well today, but I gained confidence and I saw that I could be ahead. I think I fought well, because I finished behind Toni and I’m satisfied of how the day went. I knew that I had the third place within reach, but I also wanted to finish with a good race. Now we’ll work so that we can be even better next year.”
