Are Dani and Marc the strongest riders this pre-season? The numbers speak for themselves!

The Repsol Honda riders are ready to start the 2018 World Championship. The test days are now behind them and the 19 GPs are just around the corner. Come along with us as we go over Repsol Honda Team’s best figures during the pre-season.

Only three riders managed to clock in under 1:30 in Buriram, and two of them belong to the Repsol Honda team

The team: three-time leaders

Dani Pedrosa earned the fastest time at the first test day in Sepang, where he got the pole position last year. He made the best time once again on the last day at the new circuit in Buriram, setting the record for the entire weekend with a time of 1:29.781. As for Marc, he had the fastest time during the second day of that same test and was the only rider who made it under 1:30, with a spectacular time of 1:29.969. Only three riders managed to clock in under a minute and a half, and two of them belong to the Repsol Honda team.

9 times gracing the Top 5

Dani had one of the top 5 times on five different occasions during the pre-season. In addition to the two times he had the fastest time, in Sepang and Buriram, our number 26 also came in with one of the best times on the last day at Sepang (2nd place) and the first two days in Buriram (5th and 2nd place). Marc reached the top 5 on four occasions: the first and third day in Buriram (3rd and 4th place), the second day in Qatar (3rd place), and of course the second day in Buriram, when he came in first.

Marc raced around the track 646 times in the pre-seasons tests: 194 in Malaysia, 271 in Thailand, and 181 in Qatar. Dani completed 165 laps in Malaysia, 224 in Thailand, and 116 in Qatar, giving a total of 510. Together, the team rode 359 laps in Sepang, 495 in Buriram, and 297 in Losail. That makes for an impressive total of 5892 km covered, 3296 by Marc and 2596 by Dani.

Tyres, turns, and calories burned

In addition to all that, the team have taken no more and no less than 16 152 turns so far in 2018: 7067 left turns and 9085 right turns. Our riders burned 5500 calories each day, 2500 by Dani and 3000 by Marc, since he rode a good few extra laps. Between them, the team used 130 sets of wheels: 120 slicks and 10 wet tyres.
