Pero su dise\u00f1o permit\u00eda por primera vez la opci\u00f3n de montar neum\u00e1ticos sin c\u00e1mara, emple\u00e1ndose este sistema por primera vez en la industria de las dos ruedas con la Honda CX500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La llanta tipo <strong><em>Comstar<\/em><\/strong> fue el resultado del trabajo de Honda en la sustituci\u00f3n de la tradicional llanta de radios. Si bien estas \u00faltimas hab\u00edan ofrecido cierto grado de flexibilidad para absorber las irregularidades del terreno, tambi\u00e9n requer\u00edan un mantenimiento peri\u00f3dico y un perfecto encaje para funcionar con una c\u00e1mara de aire en el interior del neum\u00e1tico. Las primeras <strong><em>Comstar<\/em> en motos de serie<\/strong> comenzaron a montarse al a\u00f1o siguiente en modelos como la CB400 o la CB750F2, llegando incluso al modelo insignia de la marca, la CBX1000. Algunas versiones m\u00e1s ligeras incluso se montaron en el Campeonato del Mundo&nbsp; con m\u00e1quinas como la m\u00edtica NR 500 con motor de cuatro tiempos con pistones ovales, o su sucesora, la NS500 de dos tiempos con la que el joven Freddie Spencer conquist\u00f3 el mundial de 500 cc en 1983.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Algunos modelos posteriores estuvieron equipados con la llanta llamada <strong>&#8216;<em>Comstar invertida&#8217;<\/em><\/strong>, cuyos ap\u00e9ndices radiales parec\u00edan estar ubicados al rev\u00e9s. Este dise\u00f1o sol\u00eda estar acabado con anodizados en dorado y negro, as\u00ed como detalles en cromado. Los ribetes ofrecen distintas configuraciones de tres, cinco o seis puntas de estrella. Los materiales empleados en ellos depend\u00edan del modelo producido. En cuanto a los frenos, las <strong><em>Comstar<\/em> <\/strong>se han dise\u00f1ado para distintos tipos de freno delantero, desde los tambores ventilados integrados en el buje de la propia llanta, hasta discos de frenos de distintos di\u00e1metros asistidos por pinzas de doble pist\u00f3n montadas tanto delante como detr\u00e1s de la botella de suspensi\u00f3n. Incluso se ha experimentado con discos de m\u00ednimo di\u00e1metro en el interior de los est\u00e9ticamente se asemejaba m\u00e1s a un tambor de freno ventilado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se consideraba a la <strong><em>Comstar<\/em><\/strong> como una llanta libre de mantenimiento y sin despiece. Para sus versiones en la NR500 de competici\u00f3n, el aro de la llanta estaba realizado en magnesio, mientras que el titanio se empleaba en los ribetes. Tal como declaraba en sus informaciones oficiales: <em>\u00abEsta tecnolog\u00eda soluciona los problemas de porosidad de las llantas de fundici\u00f3n y se ha convertido en una <strong>se\u00f1a de identidad para Honda<\/strong> por motivos de marketing\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La llanta <strong><em>Comstar<\/em> <\/strong>ha terminado convertida en un <strong>icono de la evoluci\u00f3n de la industria de la motocicleta de la d\u00e9cada de 1980<\/strong>.
