En un coche de competici\u00f3n se utiliza a la inversa, con la intenci\u00f3n de generar una fuerza que lo presione contra el asfalto. Por esto, en ocasiones, el \u201c<em>downforce\u201d<\/em> tambi\u00e9n se define como agarre aerodin\u00e1mico para diferenciarlo del agarre mec\u00e1nico, que es el que se logra, principalmente, con los neum\u00e1ticos y las suspensiones. Cuanto m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido va el veh\u00edculo, m\u00e1s \u201c<em>downforce\u201d<\/em> generan y mayor es la adherencia al asfalto.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Difusor:<\/strong> los coches de F\u00f3rmula 1 incluyen una pieza llamada difusor que contribuye a que el \u201c<em>downforce\u201d <\/em>sea mayor. Est\u00e1 situado en los bajos de la zona trasera del coche y su funci\u00f3n es la de \u201cpegarlo\u201d al asfalto, generando hasta un 45% de la carga aerodin\u00e1mica total del veh\u00edculo. A esta fuerza, que crea succi\u00f3n o aspiraci\u00f3n, se la denomina <a>efecto Venturi<\/a><a href=\"#_msocom_1\">[a(1]<\/a>&nbsp;.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Agarre<\/strong>: el \u201c<em>downforce\u201d<\/em> contribuye a que un coche tenga m\u00e1s agarre al trazar curvas y sea m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en los cambios de direcci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, en rectas muy largas, cuando lo que se busca es la mayor velocidad m\u00e1xima posible, un exceso de carga aerodin\u00e1mica hacia el suelo puede ser perjudicial, frenando el coche y evitando que corra m\u00e1s.<a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"269\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2026\/06\/30124056\/Foto-4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-131104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2026\/06\/30124056\/Foto-4-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2026\/06\/30124056\/Foto-4-1-300x101.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2026\/06\/30124056\/Foto-4-1-768x258.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DRS<\/strong>: para reducir esta carga en momento puntuales, los F\u00f3rmula 1 incluyen un dispositivo m\u00f3vil en el aler\u00f3n trasero conocido como DRS (\u201c<em>Drag Reduction System<\/em>\u201d o Sistema de Reducci\u00f3n de Resistencia). Est\u00e1 desarrollado con el objetivo principal de reducir la carga aerodin\u00e1mica, permitiendo que el coche consiga una velocidad m\u00e1xima mayor en las rectas para facilitar los adelantamientos. El DRS lo activa el piloto pulsando un bot\u00f3n situado en el volante y se desactiva de manera autom\u00e1tica al pisar el pedal del freno. Tambi\u00e9n lo puede desactivar pulsando el bot\u00f3n de nuevo.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Normas<\/strong>: para que un piloto pueda activar el DRS durante una carrera, se deben cumplir los siguientes requisitos<ul><li>Estar a menos de un segundo del coche que le precede.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Estar en una zona designada de una recta, conocidas como zona DRS. Sin embargo, la resistencia aerodin\u00e1mica, conocida en el mundo de la competici\u00f3n como <strong><em>\u201cdrag\u201d<\/em>, es la fuerza horizontal<\/strong> que ejerce el aire sobre la carrocer\u00eda del coche en contra del sentido de la marcha y que frena su avance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En otras palabras, el \u201c<em>drag<\/em>\u201d es la resistencia natural que opone el aire. De ah\u00ed que al dise\u00f1ar la carrocer\u00eda de un coche o una moto, se tenga muy en cuenta el coeficiente de penetraci\u00f3n aerodin\u00e1mica. A mayor \u00e1rea frontal, mayor es la resistencia contra el aire y, por tanto, al veh\u00edculo le cuesta m\u00e1s avanzar hacia delante. Cuanto mayor es esta, m\u00e1s va afectar el aire a la carga aerodin\u00e1mica, como a la resistencia al avance.\u00a0\u00a0 <em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%BFPor_que_es_tan_importante_el_%E2%80%9Cdownforce%E2%80%9D_en_los_circuitos\"><\/span><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es tan importante el \u201c<em>downforce\u201d<\/em> en los circuitos?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En competici\u00f3n, lo m\u00e1s importante es el tiempo que un coche o una moto invierte en dar una vuelta a un circuito o en recorrer un tramo. Por este motivo, un buen \u201c<em>downforce\u201d <\/em>es fundamental siempre que se encuentre un equilibrio para que no suponga un freno excesivo en rectas largas. Dependiendo de si un circuito tiene m\u00e1s o menos curvas, o rectas m\u00e1s o menos largas, los alerones de un coche o una moto se pueden modificar para tratar de bajar el <strong>tiempo por vuelta<\/strong> y que el piloto se sienta m\u00e1s seguro, conduciendo con m\u00e1s confianza.
