The battle for pole position at the British GP<\/strong> took place under clear skies and with higher temperatures than usual at Silverstone. This was not, however, an advantage for the Repsol Honda Team<\/strong> riders, who were both unable to make their way out of Q1. In addition, Stefan Bradl<\/strong> was hit with a penalty of three grid places.<\/p>\n

In the morning, Pol Espargar\u00f3<\/strong> took a step forward compared to Friday, going 16th. In the afternoon, in the final free practice sessions of the weekend, the Spaniard would finish 20th.<\/p>\n

In Q1, Espargar\u00f3 did not make the cut to move into Q2, setting the ninth fastest time of 1:59.367. That lap placed him 19th on the grid, although he will start 18th due to the penalty handed to his teammate.<\/p>\n

Bradl<\/strong> used free practice to find a competitive pace for the race. Unlike his teammate, he would go quicker in the afternoon sessions, progressing from 22nd in FP3 to 18th in FP4.<\/p>\n

In Q1, Bradl also failed to make it through to Q2, placing eighth with a best time of 1:59.339. He will be relegated from 18th to 21st due to the sanction given to him for impeding another rider during their hot lap.<\/p>\n
