{"id":97744,"date":"2019-11-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-16T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/first-free-practice-sessions-for-marquez-and-lorenzo-at-final-round\/"},"modified":"2023-02-27T07:23:07","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T09:23:07","slug":"first-free-practice-sessions-for-marquez-and-lorenzo-at-final-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/first-free-practice-sessions-for-marquez-and-lorenzo-at-final-round\/","title":{"rendered":"First Free Practice sessions for M\u00e1rquez and Lorenzo at final round of the year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez <\/strong>was third in the first Free Practice for the Valencia Grand Prix, led the way for a good part of FP2 and finished third on the combined timesheets.<\/p>\n<p>The Repsol Honda Team rider was one of only three men to set a time under 1:31 seconds, which he did on his fourth lap of FP2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jorge Lorenzo<\/strong> improved his lap times by a second from the first to the second session and was up into the Top 10 a few minutes from the end of FP2. Our work today was about the race, finding our pace and understanding the tyres more \u2013 a typical start to our weekend. Tomorrow we will have a chance to do the time attack and focus more on Qualifying. We also worked on a couple of other things outside of this to be a little be more ready for the future. A busy day!<\/em><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/jl99?src=hash&#038;lang=es\">#JL99<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>After yesterday I had to try and just focus on today,<\/strong>  to get into a normal mindset for the race weekend. I was able to do this and we had quite an OK day today, we were closer to the top than in previous races even if our position is not a lot better. We were only 1.1 second from Quartararo at the end. Tomorrow our goal is the top 15 but maybe we can push for Q2 if we make some more improvements.
