Also in 2014, he became the rider with the highest number of pole positions in a season (13). The Repsol Honda Team rider has shone in qualifying, taking pole 88 times; this is the most for any rider since records were first kept in 1978.<\/p>\n<p>A hero in Spain, he is<strong> the first Spanish rider to win 50 premier class races,<\/strong> and his achievements have been recognised with numerous awards in his homeland.<\/p>\n<p>The current series leader, and coming into the race off the back of victory at Misano last Sunday,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/aragon-provides-third-home-race-challenge-for-marquez-and-lorenzo\/\"> M\u00e1rquez will celebrate Grand
