Box Repsol are looking for the most unique motorsport fans, and the current MotoGP World Champion has joined the cause. Ahead of International Dog Day on Sunday, July 21st, the Repsol Honda team rider recently visited an animal shelter<\/strong>, where he met the \u2018Marc M\u00e1rquez\u2019 of dogs.<\/p>\n

The canine is the second star of the \u201cFan Stories\u201d series, in which Box Repsol commemorate 50 years of Repsol\u2019s involvement in motor racing, in addition to 25 years partnering Honda in the premier class of the Motorcycle World Championship .<\/p>\n

Named by the owners of the refuge, Marc M\u00e1rquez the dog shares his namesake\u2019s speedy nature, and met the Spaniard on the Repsol Honda rider\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n

The dog has lived in the shelter after being found on a road following some cyclists. Some 138,000 dogs and cats are abandoned every year in Spain, especially in the summer on roads, at service stations and at supermarket entrances. MotoGP World Champion M\u00e1rquez and Repsol want fans to think carefully before buying a pet, and collaborate through adoption or sponsorship<\/strong> to give a home to these animals.<\/p>\n
