{"id":97508,"date":"2019-06-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-30T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/marc-marquez-second-increase-lead\/"},"modified":"2023-02-27T07:19:29","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T09:19:29","slug":"marc-marquez-second-increase-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/marc-marquez-second-increase-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc M\u00e1rquez places second at Dutch GP to increase World Championship lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> was fifth in the early stages of the Dutch GP, but after a crash for \u00c1lex Rins on Lap 3 and a move to pass Joan Mir, he escaped with Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vi\u00f1ales.<\/p>\n<p>The Repsol Honda rider and Vi\u00f1ales passed Quartararo with ten laps remaining at Assen.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1rquez followed his compatriout for several laps, eventually crossing the line less than <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/box_repsol\/status\/1145312245565534210\">five seconds behind him and securing a spot on the podium<\/a>. I chose the soft tyre and targeted the podium so this is like a victory as we have again increased the advantage in the championship. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Lead extended.<\/strong> I saw Vi\u00f1ales was faster than me and breaking away and I tried to stay with him to avoid a battle with Quartararo at the end. I was behind Vi\u00f1ales for a few laps and then I saw he was faster than me today, congratulations to him on the victory. The most important part is we have extended our lead in the championship at a circuit where we struggle.
