{"id":97428,"date":"2019-05-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-19T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/crashes-end-french-gp-prematurely-for-alonso-lopez-and-sergio-garcia\/"},"modified":"2024-10-16T12:22:36","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T14:22:36","slug":"crashes-end-french-gp-prematurely-for-alonso-lopez-and-sergio-garcia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/moto3-en\/crashes-end-french-gp-prematurely-for-alonso-lopez-and-sergio-garcia\/","title":{"rendered":"Crashes end French GP prematurely for Alonso L\u00f3pez and Sergio Garc\u00eda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Alonso L\u00f3pez started from seventeenth position on the grid.<\/strong> He was up to thirteenth after three laps, but would concede ground and crash at Turn 3, five laps from the end.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nTeammate Sergio Garc\u00eda started twenty-second after a 12-place grid penalty<\/strong>, despite qualifying tenth in Q2 yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Making contact with another rider on the opening lap, Garc\u00eda went down and was unable to continue. <strong>More than a third of the starters would crash at the French GP.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- Imagen relacionada --><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05064342\/Pilotos-de-Moto3-en-Jerez-2019-e1557061125638-404x336-1.jpg\" alt=\"Pilotos de Moto3 en Jerez 2019\" width=\"404\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Moto3 French GP 2019 &#8211; Declaraciones de los pilotos<\/h2>\n<h3>Alonso L\u00f3pez<\/h3>\n<p><em>It was a race in which I was quite comfortable, but for some reason it was more difficult for me to overtake and<strong> I couldn\u2019t maintain the pace I had in practice in order to be able to progress in the group<\/strong>. In the end we were a little far behind, although we were running a pace similar to that of the front runners. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>That was until I lost front grip at Turn 3 and crashed. I struggled less here than last season, and <strong>now there are circuits that I like coming up, where I think we can play a good role<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Sergio Garc\u00eda<\/h3>\n<p><em>I started well; I knew I could come back and get into the front group.<strong> I overtook a couple of riders but, when I passed someone, I was hit from behind when accelerating on the outside and I fell<\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>It was bad luck for a second race in a row, but we have to keep our heads up. <\/strong>The positive thing about this weekend is that we were quick in practice; I qualified for Q2 and I did very well, finishing tenth.
