{"id":97187,"date":"2018-11-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-03T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/pole-number-80-for-marc-marquez\/"},"modified":"2023-02-27T07:13:24","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T09:13:24","slug":"pole-number-80-for-marc-marquez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/pole-number-80-for-marc-marquez\/","title":{"rendered":"Mighty 80th career pole for Marquez at rainy Sepang, but he\u2019ll start from third row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>M\u00e1rquez was second in FP3<\/strong> and<strong> topped the timesheets in FP4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Q2, the MotoGp World Champion got into first<\/strong> on his opening lap and improved his time on his second attempt, to take his seventh pole of the season and 80th overall.<\/p>\n<p>He suffered a crash at Turn 4 on his fourth lap, going back to the pits to collect his second bike.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1rquez has been sanctioned with a six-place penalty and will start tomorrow\u2019s race from seventh place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dani Pedrosa took a step forward in the dry<\/strong> and placed fourth in FP3, as well as ninth in FP4. Today I took advantage of that, even if, honestly, it wasn\u2019t easy. It was the first time this weekend we rode in the wet, and we even crashed. But the feeling was there and we achieved the pole position, which is a good feeling even if we\u2019ll ultimately start from the third row. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The most important thing is that we made a huge step forward with the setup in dry conditions, and now I think we\u2019re competitive. I also adapted my riding style a bit, and now we\u2019re closer to the faster guys, who here are Dovizioso and Vi\u00f1ales. Now we\u2019ll see which conditions we\u2019ll have tomorrow, then we\u2019ll try and make a good start and if possible we\u2019ll fight for the podium.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/dp26?src=hash\">#DP26<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><em>Today we made a little step forward in the dry but still not enough to stay in the group that can fight for the victory. Then I struggled a lot in the wet, with both medium and soft spec tyres. I couldn\u2019t find any grip, and that means that tomorrow we\u2019ll again start from back on the grid, which of course isn\u2019t good.
