He will be proclaimed champion if he has at least 75 points more than his nearest rival at the end of the race.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1rquez has already been crowned MotoGP World Champion twice at Twin Ring Motegi: In 2014 and in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Dani Pedrosa has won five races at Motegi, and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/the-samurai-of-motegi\/\">the rider with the most victories at the Japanese track<\/a>: Three in MotoGP (2011, 2012 and 2015) one in 250cc (in 2004) and one in 125cc (2002).<\/p>\n<p>\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BF5RxF1-aDM?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>2018 Thai GP &#8211; Marc M\u00e1rquez &amp; Dani Pedrosa&#8217;s statements<\/h3>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MM93?src=hash\">#MM93<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><em>We have our first match ball at Honda\u2019s home race, which is very important for\u00a0our Factory. Of course we\u2019ll try\u00a0to get the best result in front of Honda\u2019s people and home fans, but Motegi is a stop-and-go track where strong acceleration is a key factor, so we\u2019ll have to work hard and improve a little bit in that area if we want to fight with Ducati. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Otherwise, we\u2019ll try to remain focused and calm and handle the situation as well as possible. The important thing is to ultimately achieve our goal at some point.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DP26?src=hash\">#DP26<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><em>I\u2019ve had many good results at Motegi in the past as I enjoy the track a lot, but I\u2019ve also suffered some challenging moments. So we must wait and see, but of course I hope this year will be good and we\u2019ll be able to continue the progress we\u2019ve made in the last races, in term of pace and bike setup.
