Repsol! Today I want to talk to you about my home town, Cervera. It\u2019s located close to Lleida and I know some of you have heard of it because I mention it every once in a while. It has a special place in my heart, and if you\u2019ll come along with me you\u2019ll see that there\u2019s a lot to love about it. You might even want to come visit.<\/p>\n<p>The place you come from is always special, but in my case Cervera gave me two things I truly value: one, a sense of tranquillity, the ability to disconnect, etc., and two, it\u2019s an ideal place for doing sport (bike riding, running, etc.) and nearly all types of motorcycling because it has a lot of circuits relatively nearby.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in Cervera and in the whole Lleida area there\u2019s a motorcycling atmosphere, which is what introduced my family, including me, to the world of motorcycling. That\u2019s why it\u2019s an ideal place for me to keep my feet on the ground, not changing my lifestyle or my way of training, which helped me get where I am today.<\/p>\n<p>One advantage of living in a small town is that everybody knows each other, so even young children can play in the street or the park without anyone having to look after them too much. I remember when I was little I would go to the promenade in front of my school and spend the afternoons there, with my brother and my friends, playing all sorts of games or riding our bicycles.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05060006\/21230914_1677458388931271_7133525157981167208_n.jpg\" alt=\"alex marquez se\u00f1ala un coche conduciendo en tierra\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Cervera is not very big, and there\u2019s a good few bars dispersed throughout where you can have a good time. If you want a good motorcycling atmosphere along with some tapas,\u00a0<strong>one good option is \u201cNobadis\u201d (formerly Bona Teca)<\/strong>, which is where\u00a0<strong>members of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fanclubmarcmarquez93.net\/\">Official Fan Club Marc M\u00e1rquez 93<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0get together to see the races on Sundays. If you stop by, you\u2019ll see that in all small towns, people are welcoming, friendly, and care about everyone else. A lot of people say hi to me, others ask me about the World Championship, or about my last race\u2026and some ask me for photos.\u00a0<strong>People are very affectionate but also they\u2019re also respectful, which I\u2019m thankful for<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also a great place to train.\u00a0<strong>A while ago, we were talking with the town hall representatives and we told them about a cycling route that I often ride with \u00c1lex so that anyone who wants to can do it, too<\/strong>. It\u2019s a circular route that covers about 24 km, so you can do it in one morning. There\u2019s also a shorter, 10 km route if you prefer something less taxing. I\u2019ll share the links here, and maybe we\u2019ll cross paths one of these days!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikiloc.com\/wikiloc\/view.do?id=15728812\">24 km Route<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wikiloc.com\/wikiloc\/view.do?id=15728861\">10 Km Route<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05060006\/20525495_1645819422095168_4627409057647983170_n.jpg\" alt=\"Marc y \u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez en el monte con una bicicleta\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of things you\u2019ve got to do when you visit Cervera:\u00a0<strong>walk around the wall from the Middle Ages, visit the Church of Santa Mar\u00eda and its bell tower, or the university building<\/strong>\u2026these are some the things you just can\u2019t miss.<\/p>\n<p>Then we\u2019ve got\u00a0<strong>\u201cL\u2019Aquelarre\u201d, a traditional festival in Cervera that we celebrate during the last weekend of August<\/strong>. One part of the festival features theatrical performances and fireworks, and then there\u2019s also music and concerts. The World Championship often keeps me from attending the festival because it usually coincides with the British GP (like this year), but last year I was able to go with close friends I\u2019ve had since childhood and we had a great time.\u00a0<strong>It\u2019s amazing, I recommend it to everyone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course if you like motorbikes, I definitely encourage you to see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/where-does-marc-marquez-keep-his-treasures\/\">the exhibit that\u2019s in the museum<\/a>. You can get a close-up look at the bikes I\u2019ve had throughout my sporting career, including the three MotoGP bikes I\u2019ve won the world championships with.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05060008\/20375865_1640096862667424_1872957888625024405_n.jpg\" alt=\"Marc M\u00e1rquez en su museo del piloto junto a sus motos\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>If I\u2019ve convinced you to visit Cervera, I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll have a great time. It\u2019s often foggy in the winter, so it\u2019s best to go when it\u2019s not too cold. Two good times to go are during Holy Week, to see\u00a0<strong>\u201cLa passi\u00f3 de Cervera\u201d<\/strong>, or at the end of August, when we celebrate\u00a0<strong>L\u2019Aquelarre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When you get to Cervera, I hope you feel as I good as I do when I arrive after a Grand Prix.
