I\u2019m really happy with our second place finish<\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?text=What+a+race%21+I%E2%80%99m+really+happy+with+our+second+place+finish&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.boxrepsol.com%2Fen%2Fmotogp-en%2Fmarc-marquez-opens-season-podium-losail%2F&#038;hashtags=\" target=\"_blank\" data-datalayer='{\"event\": \"socialInteraction\", \"socialNetwork\": \"Twitter\", \"socialAction\": \"Compartir\", \"socialTarget\": \"Frase\"}' rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            twittear        <\/a><\/p>\n<footer>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Off the start line, <strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> and <strong>Dani Pedrosa<\/strong> were in second and third, respectively, behind Johann Zarco.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pedrosa<\/strong> lost ground on the first few laps and dropped down to eighth, but managed to stay with the first group until the final laps, when Dovizioso stretched out the pack.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> rode the entire race between second and third, and tried to take the lead on the last corner, but he ran wide and Dovizioso recovered the position to take the victory by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/box_repsol\/status\/975412209177317382\">just 27 thousandths of a second<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the sixth podium for Marc M\u00e1rquez in Qatar, where he has been on the rostrum once in 125cc, once in Moto2 and four times in MotoGP.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tMarc M\u00e1rquez<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05052814\/00_marc_declas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" \/>What a race! I\u2019m really happy with our second place finish because this is one of the tracks on the calendar where we struggle most. After the pre-season test we knew what we could expect. With the hard front tyre I was struggling a bit in the left corners but with the medium I wouldn\u2019t have finished the race. I tried to pass Dovi in the last corner but he beat me. Honestly, I was expecting that, but I had to try the move anyway, to see if there was any way we could make it happen. In the end, Dovi had something more than me and he deserves this win. Even if he was a bit behind at the start, I was waiting for him\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u2013I was waiting for the red! I knew his tactic was to push at the end and when he passed Zarco I said to myself, \u2018let\u2019s go!\u2019 I followed him and almost went wide, but it was a great race and a great show. The thing I\u2019m most happy about is that, this time, we were able to stay with him on the straight and this is very good.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>\n\t\tDani Pedrosa<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05052815\/00_dani_declas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" \/>In general, the bike worked well enough and I\u2019m happy because we were able to improve our feeling over the weekend. The hard front tyre was actually a very good choice as I could brake hard into the corners and keep a decent pace. We focused a lot on the feeling from the front over the weekend and finally decided to go with what we\u2019d worked toward. I had a good start and I\u2019m happy with how I managed the first corners. Unfortunately, the feeling from the rear wasn\u2019t as strong. The tyre was spinning a lot, which caused me to loose ground in turn 3 and some other corners in sector four. It\u2019s a real shame because the first race is important and if I think that if didn\u2019t have this issue I could\u2019ve fought for the podium.
