The Repsol Rally Team driver covered the vast distance of this race segment, spanning almost 516\u00a0miles (830\u00a0kms), in 22nd overall place and 8th for his category (T1.2), the same places he will now occupy in the world standings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first stage of the Morocco rally was a genuine test for Isidre Esteve and his co-pilot, Txema Villalobos, particularly following the problems that affected the electronic clutch system of their 4&#215;4 yesterday. With the first miles of the race already behind them, however, the Repsol Rally Team members confirmed that the problem had been completely solved and that the Sodicars BV6 prototype with adapted hand controls on the steering wheel was performing flawlessly.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;We started very far behind and, at first, it was hard for us to get ahead because there was a lot of dust in the air. But we set a good pace and we managed to successfully complete a special stage of the race that was quite technical at first, with many quick areas with lots of gravel near the end. There were areas that were hard to negotiate, but starting almost in last place helped us because there were many tracks&#8217;, <\/em>Isidre Esteve explained upon completing the race.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bxrepsol.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/static\/2022\/08\/05044349\/IE_Maroc_E1_3.jpg\" alt=\"isidre esteve y chema villalobos\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>His comeback was spectacular. Starting in 41st place, the driver from Oliana began overtaking rivals until completing the 228-mile (367-km) timed race in an impressive 22nd place. Achieving all this in 4 hours, 49 minutes, and 51 seconds also earned him the 8th place for the T1.2 (modified diesel 4&#215;4) category.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;The car didn&#8217;t have any serious problems and the day went very well, allowing us to continue perfecting the car for the upcoming Dakar rally, gain confidence, and get more training mileage under our belts. Generally, we&#8217;re very happy with how the day went&#8217;,<\/em> the driver from L\u00e9rida explained with satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, they will face the second stage of the race, in the vicinity of Erfoud. Of the 235-mile (378-km) challenge, a stretch of 220\u00a0miles (354\u00a0kms) will be timed.<em>&#8216;It&#8217;ll be a long and tiring day, like today, and it will help us move forward, because, the more miles I drive, the better shape I&#8217;m in.
