{"id":96441,"date":"2017-06-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-30T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/pedrosa-marquez-test-out-new-asphalt-dry-wet-conditions\/"},"modified":"2017-06-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-30T02:00:00","slug":"pedrosa-marquez-test-out-new-asphalt-dry-wet-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/pedrosa-marquez-test-out-new-asphalt-dry-wet-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedrosa and M\u00e1rquez test out new asphalt in dry and wet conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p>I felt good and strong <\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?text=I+felt+good+and+strong+&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.boxrepsol.com%2Fen%2Fmotogp-en%2Fpedrosa-marquez-test-out-new-asphalt-dry-wet-conditions%2F&#038;hashtags=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            twittear        <\/a><\/p>\n<footer>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On their first encounter with the new asphalt at the Sachsenring circuit, the <strong>Repsol Honda riders rode 2 seconds faster than they did last year in practice \u2013and almost matched their times from Q2 in 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A brief and intense shower drenched the track just before FP2 and again halfway through the session, meaning the riders used wet tyres for the entire practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> set the second fastest time in completely wet conditions, followed by teammate <strong>Dani Pedrosa<\/strong> in third.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tMarc M\u00e1rquez<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Today was really positive. I felt good and strong in the dry this morning and also in the wet this afternoon. That\u2019s important, as here you never know which conditions you\u2019ll have to face. It now seems that it will be dry tomorrow and Sunday, but we can\u2019t know for certain. We started from a good base with the setup, and I felt comfortable. Now we must pay attention to keep improving along with the track conditions; I think the new asphalt will get better step by step, and that could change everything. In the wet the grip was already amazing, and we were able to be around four seconds faster than last year. In the dry I think the potential is there, but with the asphalt still very new, it was a bit slippery. Anyway, we\u2019ll see what the weather is like tomorrow, but we know that we\u2019re already good enough in every condition.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>\n\t\tDani Pedrosa<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We\u2019ve had a positive start to the weekend. We had the opportunity to ride in the dry and in the wet, and we were able to lap well enough in both conditions. I\u2019m happy with this but we still have work to do on the bike\u2019s setup and on the tyres, to understand which one will be better for Sunday. We expected the weather to stay dry in the afternoon but that wasn\u2019t the case, so we weren\u2019t able to continue our work. Hopefully tomorrow we\u2019ll be luckier with the weather.
