With three weeks remaining until the 2017 World Championship gets underway, the Monlau Repsol Technical School sports project in the Moto3 class was presented on Thursday in Madrid. Enea Bastianini, the 2016 runner-up of the World Championship, and Ar\u00f3n Canet \u2013a rookie last season\u2013, will form a team with the support of Repsol and the Monlau school \u2013in a structure that achieved the title in 2014 with rider \u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez.<\/p>\n

For the Italian, this will be his fourth season in the Moto3 World Championship, where he has already taken 2 victories, a further 13 podiums and 7 pole positions. He will share a garage with Ar\u00f3n Canet, who debuted a year ago and, despite injuries last season, showed his talent by achieving a podium and putting in several meritable performances in the competitive class.<\/p>\n

Also present were the riders who will be supported by Monlau Repsol Technical School in other series: FIM CEV Repsol riders Alonso L\u00f3pez, Jeremy Alcoba and Sergio Garc\u00eda; RFME Pre-Moto3 Spanish Championship competitors Joshua Bauer, Daniel Holgado and Juli\u00e1n Giral; and 85GP pair Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rueda and Diogo Moreira. The Repsol-Monlau alliance goes beyond traditional sponsorship. Both companies share values such as innovation, technology and training for the young. This year will be the fourth in which they will work jointly in promoting the training of future motorsport professionals, such as engineers, mechanics and riders.<\/p>\n

Enea Bastianini<\/h3>\n

“I’m very happy to be here today at a presentation like this. The team is new to me and I have to work hard because a lot is expected of me this year. I think we can do very well. I am very happy with the testing we have done so far; we have improved a lot, especially in the last test, where we took a step forward. In the next tests we have to improve even more to arrive well in Qatar. The presentation of the team has been incredible, and everything looks great; I had never been in a presentation like this before and this excites me.”<\/p>\n

Ar\u00f3n Canet<\/h3>\n

“Starting today, we can say that a new year has begun. Preseason testing has gone very well so far. We face this season with different goals; I no longer have to learn new circuits and I don\u2019t have to adapt to a new class, as I have everything quite well assimilated. I just have to continue to mature as a rider and keep taking steps forward. My main goal is to be in the leading group at every race. If we succeed with that, we will seek other goals later on. I am very happy to be in my third season with this team, with this great family, because they are like older brothers to me and I trust them 100% \u2013especially on track, where they provide incredible support.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
