After the tests carried out last Monday on the track, the riders arrived with data and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fastest rider of the day was<strong> Pecco Bagnaia<\/strong> with a 1:30.286, a<strong> new circuit record<\/strong>. <strong>Jorge Mart\u00edn <\/strong>and <strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> followed him closely. Finishing fourth on the combined timesheets was <strong>Enea Bastianini<\/strong>, whilst <strong>Fabio Quartararo<\/strong> was the big surprise, managing to <strong>fifth <\/strong>and go directly through to Q2. <strong>Maverick Vi\u00f1ales <\/strong>and <strong>Aleix Espargar\u00f3<\/strong>, along with<strong> Pedro Acosta<\/strong>, rounded off the <strong>Top 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Track conditions changed a lot between <strong>Free Practice <\/strong>and <strong>Practice 1<\/strong>. Marini was the <strong>fastest Honda<\/strong> in the session, with a time of 1:33.390, less than one and a half seconds behind the leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, in <strong>Practice 1<\/strong>, the Repsol Honda riders&#8217; objective was to do as many long runs as possible to gather information. <strong>Marini <\/strong>was the man who did the most laps, with a total of <strong>26<\/strong>, while <strong>Mir <\/strong>did 24. The Spaniard was <strong>18th<\/strong>, one position ahead of his Italian teammate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both riders<strong> improved<\/strong> their positions throughout the day, but will have to continue working to make it into Q2 on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The action on Day 2 will kick off at<strong> 10:10am [CEST] <\/strong>with Free Practice 2, followed by qualifying. When you compare the distance from us to the top riders from last weekend to this one, I think our new package has given us a few tenths. Today was about confirming everything from the test because I am feeling back to my best and able to really push, unlike in the test.
