Portugal GP 2020 – Moto3 Race – Riders statements

Sergio García Dols

“It was a very closely fought race. At the beginning it was a bit difficult for me to find my pace, but when I did I gradually overtook other riders. On the final laps I had something in reserve, but when I wanted to attack the other riders had established a small gap and I was no longer able to fight on the last lap. I’m very happy and grateful to the whole team; I think we have felt good at the last few races, with two second places and a fourth. The results have ended up coming for us.”

Ryusei Yamanaka

“My start was quite good. As the race progressed I felt good, gaining positions and also running a good pace. Halfway through the race I was able to catch up with some of the riders ahead of me, and I felt comfortable with how I was riding. I tried to keep up that steady pace, but I couldn’t do it. I was up into 14th, but at the end 3 or 4 riders overtook me and it was very difficult for me to regain the position. I’m happy to have finished all of the races; next year I will have to push a lot more.”
